Entertainer Louis Grandison popularly known as Dexta Daps, pleaded not guilty to charges of assaulting the police during an incident at the Sangster International Airport last month.
Grandison and his driver, Eason Richards appeared before the Montego Bay Criminal Court on charges of assault occasioning bodily harm, obstructing the police, resisting arrest and using indecent language.
Defence attorney Peter Champagnie urged prosecutors to review the case to determine whether they will be pursuing the matter based on statements given by the police involved in the case.
The artiste and his driver will return to court on June 9.
It’s reported that on April 27, the police were issuing a ticket to the entertainer’s driver at the airport for illegal parking when Dexta Daps intervened.
This led to a physical struggle between the police and the artiste, which was captured on video.
